Tryon International Equestrian Center

October 22, 2015 2 min read

In 2013, Polk County announced the construction of the Tryon International Equestrian Center – a $100-million dollar resort that would host international-level equestrian competitions! Fast forward to the summer of 2014, thousands of people attended the grand opening of the 1,400-acre center and called it the best horse show development in the world. It features up to 10 riding arenas, a 6,000-person capacity stadium, and so much more.

We’re here to tell you, this is a place you’ll never want to leave and, pretty soon, you won’t have to. The center is in the process of building condominiums on the property. The 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath wood-crafted condos are extremely spacious and equipped with a wrap-around deck, tack room, and dog shower!  Yes, a separate shower to bathe your furry friend– cool, right?!

Rug & Home was asked to provide home furnishings and rugs for the model condo and we gladly accepted.  Mark Bellissimo, one of the Tryon Equestrian Partners, and his team worked early mornings and long nights to make sure the model condo was completed in time for the showing on Friday, October 16th. Our Rug & Home management team worked alongside interior designer Cheryl Gydas-Eng, spending countless hours selecting one-of-a-kind pieces, as well as going over design concepts to give the condo a cozy, at-home feel. Last Friday night, we were able to see all the hard work pay off and Cheryl’s vision come to life at the Tryon International Equestrian Center Condo Open House.

Who’s ready to look inside? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned because next week we’re giving a full tour, as well as talking all things neutral design with interior designer, Cheryl Gydas-Eng. Here’s a sneak peek of the most talked about room in the condo – the home office.

The model condo is absolutely breathtaking!  We love Cheryl’s eye for design and can’t wait to share décor tips from her next week. If you’re an equestrian enthusiast add the Tryon International Equestrian Center to your list of places to visit, we promise you won’t regret it!
